May is a solicitor admitted in Hong Kong and England and Wales, and a legal practitioner admitted in Australia, including New South Wales, South Australia and Tasmania, as well as in New Zealand.

With more than 15 years of experience in intellectual property law, May specialises in trademark matters, advising clients on trademark protection, prosecution and portfolio management in Hong Kong, China and other Asian jurisdictions.

Her experience includes managing multi-jurisdictional trademark portfolios for international clients, developing filing strategies, overseeing registration programmes and global rebranding projects, and advising on portfolio maintenance and brand protection initiatives. She works closely with clients to develop practical, commercially focused trademark strategies aligned with their business objectives and expansion plans.

May’s practice covers all aspects of trademark prosecution and contentious matters, including oppositions and invalidation proceedings. She regularly advises on examination issues, third-party challenges, and strategies for strengthening and maintaining valuable trademark rights.

Her broader intellectual property experience includes trademark infringement and copyright enforcement matters, including urgent court applications, evidence preservation measures, interim relief and customs-related brand protection measures. This experience gives her a well-rounded understanding of the practical and commercial considerations involved in protecting intellectual property assets.

Working alongside patent attorneys and other intellectual property specialists, May provides dedicated trademark expertise as part of Voyage IP’s comprehensive service offering. She assists clients in building, managing and protecting their intellectual property portfolios across multiple jurisdictions.
